Gandharva Mahavidyalaya North America (GMV NA) is the first Gandharva Mahavidyalaya outside India, dedicated to spreading Indian Classical Music. As an official extension of GMV Pune and a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our mission is to educate, promote, and preserve Indian classical performing arts through training, examinations, and performance opportunities in the U.S.

Founded in 1901 by Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar, Gandharva Mahavidyalaya has played a pivotal role in making classical music accessible. In 1932, Pt. Vinayakrao Patwardhan, the senior-most disciple of the revered Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar, established GMV Pune to carry forward this legacy. Today, GMV continues to offer structured training in Indian music and dance, along with government-recognized examinations conducted by Bharatiya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal.

What We Offer

Courses

Classical Music

A comprehensive curriculum covering Hindustani Classical Vocal, Sugam Sangeet, and Balgeet.
